Development of high-performance magnesium-air primary battery using porous graphene as electrode Associate Prof. Ito

Magnesium is one of the most readily available battery materials, and since it uses brine as the electrolyte, it can be used in combination with carbon-based electrodes to construct batteries at low cost. In this study, by using porous graphene and magnesium as electrodes and solid electrolyte, we have developed a primary air battery with performance equivalent or superior to that of platinum electrodes.
